How to top up your Cashplus prepaid card
Your new card is a prepaid Gold MasterCard® card, so just load money onto it before you use it. There are five quick and easy ways to top up your account at over 12,500 free locations.
How do I top up my Cashplus prepaid card?
Some FREE ways to top up your Cashplus prepaid card:
- With your wages - Your employer can pay your salary direct into your account*
- Bank – Transfer money onto your Cashplus prepaid card by phone or internet banking or by standing order*
- Cashplus stores – there are currently around 750 branches
- Post Office – at any of the 12,000 UK Post Office branches
You need a Total Access account before you can top up using a bank, or by wages payment. With a Payroll Access account, your employer may be able to pay your salary into your account.
How much can I top up per day?
The minimum amount you’ll need to top up your Cashplus prepaid MasterCard card is £10.00.
With a Total Access account, the maximum amount per day that you can top up is £5,000 up to your £5,000 maximum balance limit.
If you have an Express Access account, the maximum that you can top up within 12 months is £1,500. After that you’ll need to upgrade your prepaid MasterCard card before you top up again.

It depends on how you top up your account:

†Funds should be available in one business day if payment is made before 3pm through any of the following banks who provide faster payments: Barclays, HBOS, HSBC, RBS, NatWest, Lloyds TSB, Alliance & Leicester, Co-op Bank, Abbey, National Australia Bank. We will text to confirm when funds are available.
Top ups by bank transfer, standing order or wage deposit are not available without Total Access. If you have Payroll Access, your employer may be able to pay wages too.
Can someone else top up my Cashplus prepaid MasterCard card?
Yes. Your company can top up your prepaid card by a bank transfer or by wages*. Friends and family can top up your prepaid card as additional cardholders with your payment details.
How will I know when a top up is available on my account?
You will receive a text message when you top up by wage deposit, standing order, bank transfer or at a Post Office® branch.
Updating your mobile number is easy in the Cashplus Members Area. Top up at a Cashplus retailer, and your money is usually available in minutes.
A top up hasn’t reached my Cashplus account, what should I do?
We’ll send you a text message when your payment reaches us, if you’ve topped up by bank transfer, through the Post Office or by a wages payment.
If you believe a top up payment hasn't reached your account within the timeframes shown above, have your card to hand, the payment amount, payment reference and the date the payment was made. Then either:
- Go to the Members Area and fill out a missing top up form, or contact Customer Services.
